We interviewed one of our favorite mommy bloggers and one of the prettiest faces on the local blogosphere, Miss Jackie Go of Gojackiego.com!
Long-time Diet Diva client now a Lean Machine advocate, we asked Jackie what inspired her to live the healthy lifestyle.
What inspired you to start eating healthy? Motivates you?
– My family motivated me. I’ve always been a foodie and have developed bad eating habits. Junk food, sweets and processed food are what make up my pantry. That was before I had kids… My kids have inspired me to eat healthier. I have to set a good example & be a role model from them. I mean, how can I let them eat veggies & fruits when I myself am challenged to do so di ba?
What are your health goals for the year?
-My health goals for the year is to prepare more healthy meals for my family.
What’s your advice to people who want to get into fitness/lose weight?
Just do it. There’s no better time to start your fitness journey than to do it today. Now na! Don’t wait for new year or a reason why you should start eating healthy or start working out. Would you rather do it when you’re diagnosed with a life long disease (say hypertension or diabetes?!). Would you rather start an active lifestyle just because your doctor advised you to get moving else your bones will deteriorate faster? Don’t be scared to start. Starting doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly the first time. It simply means you’re willing to take the journey and see the progress that comes with it. Just do it for yourself or your loved ones, not for any other reason. While you’re at it, don’t forget to have fun.

I started this year with over 35% body fat, and a fitness goal in mind. There were so many days I wanted to give up, stop working out, or just eat an entire bucket of chicken and chase it down with donuts. But I didn’t, I worked my ass off, literally, and am now ending the year with fitness goals surpassed and new goals for 2015. The photo chronicles my struggles with weight over the past few years, and I’ve been struggling to post it as I felt a bit shy but ultimately decided on sharing this because however shy I am, I am still very proud of what I have achieved, and hoping it inspires someone out there to make a change and challenge themselves in the coming year. Here’s to a happy, healthy 2015.
We had a chat with one of our most loyal clients, Annab Monzon on why she decided to start living healthy and eating good with Diet Diva.
1. What inspired you to start eating healthy? Motivates you?
I decided to start eating healthy and to be more fit after a really difficult time in my life. During that time i was eating my feelings and completely let go of myself. Coupled with a lifestyle that wasn’t very healthy—it really took its toll on my, emotionally and physically. I couldn’t even climb up a flight of stairs without losing my breath. What motivated me to get my health and fitness in order is how that phase in my life made me feel—I decided I can’t let myself feel that low or lose confidence again.
2. What are your health goals for the year?
My health goals really are just to stay fit, eat healthy (but indulge once in a while) and to keep moving.
3. What’s your advice to people who want to get into fitness/lose weight?
My advice, do it. It’s usually the first step that’s the hardest. when you commit yourself to something, push yourself (and maybe with the help of work out friends) to make every decision you make help you meet that goal. It will always be a challenge—and that’s why it’s worth it, because it will make you feel better regardless.

Habang may buhay, may pag-asa. Oct 14, days before I started to eat healthy— When I started my journey with @dietdivaph, I changed my lifestyle and perspective in food, just like my earlier years when I was so conscious and very active. Coming from 730 days of cheating ( meals) I now got back to my healthier and calorie- conscious self. Ü at my age, you know I cant just binge anymore taking in as many as I want like a teenager, coz its harder than what you think! With purely taking in @dietdivaph for 5 days and cheatday weekends, this is how I look now. Combined with physical activity and proper exercise, getting back to shape is a lot easier. I should start it really soon for more better results. Let us always remember that apart from the exercises we do, bigger chances of weight loss comes from what you really take in! Thank you @dietdivaph! And cheers to more and more healthy meals. God bless your heart and your generosity Nov 3 is taken a week ago during a show. Ü
I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve eaten rice in the month of June, and I’ve never been a fan of bread, so I’ve managed to avoid that, as well. The only sugar I’ve allowed myself is alcohol; otherwise, I’ve only been drinking water. That, and working out with my brother’s very kind, very supportive, and rather unforgiving (haha!) personal trainer, have really helped me drop some weight in the past few weeks. But the thing about me is that when I commit to something that targets my self-loathing (and God, have I always hated my body — it’s unbelievably hard to not look like the standard of beauty that you’re bombarded with when you work in this industry, and I am definitely not the standard — but that’s a blog post for another time), I tend to overdo it. Even I have to admit that I’ve been under-eating, and it’s not healthy. (Can my friends stop assuming the worst now, please?) So I’m really excited to be trying @dietdivaph this week. I’m hoping this helps me develop healthier habits, develop a healthier view of myself, and just help me get healthier, period. Thank you, Diet Diva!
