THE 1200-Calorie Diet
Diet Diva functions under the principle of the 1200-calorie diet.
A diet based on 1200 calories daily is the recommended minimum for safe and healthy weight loss. This is because 1200 calories will generally provide an adequate nutritional intake for most individuals, yet still allows the reduction of calories to the level that most dieters require in losing weight.
This diet plan revolves around the concept of calorie control (If dieters consume less calories than they are expending then this will result in weight loss). A 1200-calorie diet will allow you to lose weight, while still providing your body with the minimum amount of nutrition it needs. (Note that for men, the minimum calories for weight-loss are 1500-1700 calories per day). This prevents your body from entering into starvation mode, in which the body will conserve and store the calories from anything that a dieter will consume. Starvation mode will also slow down your metabolism and prolong weight-loss time.
The benefit of a 1200-calorie diet plan is that when dieters consume nutritious foods with his/her diet plan, the body’s craving for nutrients is supplied. Selecting nutrient-dense foods for their low calorie intake rather than consuming empty-calorie foods, then the urge to overeat is satisfied more quickly than before.
Diet Diva features and provides 1200-calorie balanced meals and therefore, you will be assured of quality nutritious food that is delicious & affordable.
